1. Do you use a pen name? If so, why?
The majority of my work is published under my own name. I do have one short story in Evernight Publishing’s Indecent Encounter’s anthology under the name Tessa Morelock – WAKING THE LIONESS. It was a new venture for me (paranormal erotic romance, m/f/m, and I wasn’t sure if it was a genre I’d continue with. I thought a pen name would let me test the waters, and I actually had a lot of fun writing it. I’ve written a few more erotic romances now under my own name as I’m a bit more confident now!
2. What is your favorite novel that you’ve written? Read?
Favourite that I’ve written is actually a novella, DEMONIZED. It centres around a possessed private eye called Ethan Banning, who was a side character in my first published novel. He just took over and needed his own story. Parts of it were really hard to write – it’s a pretty dark story – but I’m very proud of the end result.
Favourite that I’ve read…Oh, how to pick just one?! I’m a big fan of Stacia Kane’s Downside books, but I think my favourite book of this year (so far) is LM Pruitt’s TAKEN. It’s a paranormal/private eye tale, very sexy, very fun, and very dark.
3. Does the environment affect your writing (where you live, the seasons, the weather, etc.)?
Not really. I’ve trained myself to write under any circumstances! I have to admit, it’s easier when the weather’s bad, because I don’t feel like I’m missing out. Today it’s a glorious sunny day, so I spent the morning wandering around by the river and soaking up some sunshine. Now I feel like I have to work twice as hard on my writing to make up for lost time!
4. Where is your favorite/most bizarre place to have your characters boink?
I think the most bizarre place I’ve had them boink so far is on a church altar. One day I’m going to write a sex scene in a clothes shop changing room. I’ve always wondered if you could get away with it…
5. Do you base your heroines/heroes on photos of celebrities? If so, who?
Not really. I tend to have a very clear idea of what my characters look like already. The only time I’ve given it much thought is with Emmeline, the heroine of SHADOW CURSED, who I pictured as looking like Emilie de Ravin – I think she’s beautiful.
6. Bonus question! What’s the last thing you ate today?
I just ate a piece of bacon jerky. It smelt like cat food but it tasted pretty good.
