1. How old were you the first time you read a romance novel? Erotica?
I actually didn’t start getting romance books until around 18 years old. I was more of a high fantasy girl. Erm, the erotica, however, much earlier. I can neither confirm or deny finding my dad’s secret stash of smut books. I guess this is why my parents support me.
2. What is your favorite romance genre to read? Why? (Paranormal, sci-fi, contemporary, MM, menage, etc.)
I love fantasy, always will. It really takes you away into another world. In some respects, since most fantasy takes its cues from historical places, I love a good historical because if it too.
3. What’s hotter for the hero: long-hair, short, or bald? Why?
I like long hair. Gives me something to tug on.
4. When is your favorite time of day to write? Where is your favorite place to write? (Morning, evening, bed, playground, etc.)
Preferably, the afternoon works best for me but with having a job, I have to squeeze my time toward the evening. In my old house, I wrote in my crafting room. Having a laptop helps me move wherever I need to be. Now I have a room just for writing though it’s not set up yet.
5. Bonus question! Do your characters use birth control (i.e. condoms) and if so, how do you make the mechanics of it sexy?
For my historicals, they spill the seed outside the womb though I have employed certain old world drugs to prevent pregnancy. For contemporary, I just mention the ripping of the package and that’s it. The one thing I try to do with the condoms is that the characters are prepared. There’s no pause to go to the bathroom or dig through a purse. It’s a mood breaker. Much like your date making your feel-up more like a gyno appointment because he’s trying the find the mystical land known as the g-spot.
6. Tell us about your latest release or what you’re working on now.
My latest release is a romantic comedy titled The Romance Novel Book Club. It’s a piece I’ve been working on off and on for a bit. I posted some chapters on a private writing site and got some great feedback. So I did something that’s been a monkey on my back. I finished it. It’s a light-hearted take on a thirty-something female who’s been through the ringer on every relationship and thinks the key to happiness is through reading romance novels. IN the end, she finds the courage to let go all her failures and stop looking for Mr Perfect and getting Mr He Gets Me. Her best friend in the novel was named after a very good friend of mine. I do have another book with the character planned but not started.
Right now I’m working on two projects. Talbot’s Seduction, a prequel to Talbot’s Ploy and another naughty fairytale based on Snow White titled the Forest Maiden.
novels: Talbot’s Ploy, The Romance Novel Book Club, The Wolves of Argonne (naughty fairytale), The Heat of His Kiss (romance on the go).
