Teaser! Dream Marked 4 in progress

dream marked 4 teaser

How many of you are waiting for me to write the fourth book in the Dream Marked series? If you are, you’re in luck. I’m working on it right now!

Here is a little teaser from what I’ve done so far with Dream Marked 4 (unedited, rough draft):

Sparrow knew who he was. Everyone knew who he was: President Morgan Wilde. Tall, dark hair, blue eyes. Intelligent.

What Sparrow could not figure out was what he was doing in her dream. She wasn’t one of the groupies who flocked to the White House trying to get a glimpse of the youngest President ever elected. So what if he was handsome? Powerful? Sparrow wasn’t the kind of woman who wasted her time mooning after an unattainable prize. She wasn’t the kind of woman who needed a man to complete her. So why was she dreaming about him again?

They were somewhere dark. The back of a limo, driving at night. Like usual, her arms itched and she rubbed at them. It didn’t help. It never did. Morgan knew her head hurt, too, and sometimes he’d press on her temples, trying to fix it, but not tonight. This time was different.

They had to be quiet. There were people everywhere. There were always people around them: the driver, his protective detail, random people trying to get a glimpse of the man behind the dark windows. Even so, she couldn’t quite stifle the moan of pleasure dancing through her body. He lay over her, warm thigh between hers. He’d rested his face in her neck as though for protection, from what she didn’t know. She didn’t care, not right now. Every time he breathed out, his mouth tickled the spot right beneath her ear that drove her crazy.

“Kiss me,” he murmured, hands busy at her breasts. Sparrow carded her fingers through his thick hair, reveling in the way the soft strands felt against her skin. He was large and warm and infinitely arousing. She shivered as he thumbed over a nipple.

“Kiss me,” he asked again, and of course, she couldn’t deny him anything. She kissed his hair, head tilting to the side, and a flash of light caught her eye. Someone else was in the car with them. Her heart rate sped up. Morgan heard, he had to have, because he froze, then rolled over, his thick cock pressing against the soft line of his dress pants. Sparrow swallowed, looking down the line of his body. When she looked up, her eyes stopped at the far end of the car.

Across the seat, another man sat, face shadowed.

“Who are you?” Sparrow asked, breathy with a mix of need and shock. For some reason, her arousal was even worse now. She bit her lip, trying to control it, but it spiraled out of her grasp.

“Who are you?” Morgan rasped, the rough tone of his voice telling her that he was near the edge and just as desperate as she was. She glanced at him, startled to find him clenching his fists. She could tell he liked what he saw. Liked the long, muscular thighs and shadowed contours of the strange man’s chest. Sparrow held her breath, waiting for the answer.

Tango Trio

Tango Trio is on sale at BookStrand right now as a Retro Release. Do you like shifters? This is the shifter novel for the series. It has bonding, telepathy, and three people who can shift into big cats:

Tessa never expects to dream about two gorgeous guys making love to her on the train. She certainly never imagines they might be real men. Or that one of them is her sexy friend Parker and the other their insanely hot dance teacher, Jared. She definitely doesn’t anticipate the three of them bonding and fighting enemies desperate to steal their blood.

If you’d like to try it out, go to BookStrand now and buy it for only $2.99! Don’t worry, you don’t need to have read the other books in the series to enjoy this one.

When I read a novel, I most enjoy those with an exciting plot (explosions are a plus), character development that knocks my socks off, and/or superpowers (I read everything from sci-fi/fantasy to murder mysteries). When it comes to erotic romance, I adore sexual tension. Unresolved sexual tension is the ultimate romance candy: characters who are crazy for each other but aren’t together yet for some reason makes my imagination tingle.

Destiny Calls by Samantha Wayland has so much of this kind of tension that I broke into a sweat halfway through the first chapter. I couldn’t put the book down. I had to find out what happened. I read the entire thing in an emotional frenzy–it took about three-four hours. I read it so quickly not because the novel is short (the print version is 314 pages), but because I refused to budge until I’d consumed it whole.

The novel opens at a club where long-time best friends and police officers Patrick Brown and Brandon Barrett have gone to see the band on stage that night. Amusingly, that particular evening is when the bar caters to the local gay crowd. Since nothing in this kind of book ever goes smoothly, of course Brandon is harrassed by an ugly biker dude who won’t take “not interested” for an answer. Patrick, the straight guy in this particular duo, decides that kissing his bisexual best friend would solve the problem. After all, if he and Brandon are “together,” the ugly biker dude would leave them alone, right? Little did he know that one kiss would rock his entire universe.

Much soul-searching and self-reevaluation occurs in the next few chapters. Patrick had no idea he was attracted to Brandon. Brandon agonizes over the situation because he’d been nursing a crush on Patrick for years. Then, just when I thought Ms. Wayland had milked the sexual tension to completion, in walks Destiny. With the addition of a third into the already volatile mix, the tension ramps up to steamy levels. Destiny is just what the two men need to help them come to terms with their growing attraction. It doesn’t hurt that she is as much a friend to each man as they are to each other. It also doesn’t hurt that the three of them truly fall in love in a realistic fashion. As a heroine, Destiny definitely holds her own with both men. She turns what could have been a major mistake for the men into a passionate affair involving all three main characters equally.

Happily, the rest of the novel details the trio’s growing emotional commitment to each other without ever lapsing into unemotional sexual acrobatics. The sex is inventive, hot, and the key to understanding their growing love for each other. Destiny Calls is a satisfying romance, complete with a delicious happy ending. The conflict is believable, the dialogue is snappy, and the characters likeable. This is the book that put Samantha Wayland’s name on my must-buy-everything-she-writes list.

The Romance Reviews Erotic Romance Madness Hop

Just finished Love Storm

Well, sort of. I wrote it, revised it, and just now I sent it in to the publisher. If I’m lucky, I’ll hear back from them in a few weeks with an acceptance. Given the way their schedule looks right now, I’m guessing it might be released in April or May 2012. I’ll have to do edits in the next few months before it comes out. Cross your fingers for me!

In other news, I’m thinking of writing a stand-along menage novelette. Something around 30K. If I can come up with some ideas for characters and plot, I’ll let you know how it’s going.

Also, I just got word that Tango Trio will soon be available in paperback! W00t! Here is the link at Amazon. There is no buy button yet, but I’m sure it will pop up there soon. I can’t wait to get my hands on a paper copy. And neither can my mother. LOL.

Tango Trio reviewed by The Romance Reviews!

The Romance Reviews gave Tango Trio four stars! Here’s some of what J9 had to say:

TANGO TRIO was a very good ménage story but also worked as a strong paranormal romance. The plot was well paced and balanced the many spicy sexual encounters. Readers of both ménage and paranormal stories will like this book and will likely do as I did and go back to read book one of the series, Appassionato.

The Romance Studio reviews Tango Trio!

Yesterday I received an email that Clare at The Romance Studio had posted a review of Tango Trio. She gave it 4 1/2 hearts and since it was my birthday, I couldn’t have asked for a better gift! Thanks so much Clare! Here’s what she had to say:

When Tessa begins having dreams about her best friend Parker and a mysterious stranger, she welcomes the erotic adventure. Soon she finds out she’s part of a bonded trio, a group of predestined soul mates. Once she and Parker meet Jared, a soldier-turned-dance instructor, in the flesh, their bond takes on psychic proportions. Their bond gives them the ability to communicate telepathically, but it also sets them up as targets for people who want to use their blood as a street drug called ‘Path. Soon, they find themselves the target of merciless drug dealers, the leader of which is no stranger to Tessa.

Tango Trio is a rollercoaster of action. From the first mouthwatering dream sequence to the last scene that’ll leave the reader with something to dream about, it’s one hot, exciting story. Ms. Leaf doesn’t fool around with a slow build. She dives right in and leaves you breathless. Parker leaps from the page, a dynamic stud in tight jeans, and his chemistry with Tessa fairly burns. When Jared’s character is added, watch out.

Once the trio is formed, the real action of the story begins. The bonding makes for an incredibly close and sexually-charged relationship, but it also paints a bright red bull’s-eye on them. Their blood forms a powerful, addictive drug that fetches top dollar on the open market. Even clandestine government groups are taking notice. While Tango Trio can be read alone, it’s the second in Ms. Leaf’s Dream Marked series, and I highly recommend reading the first to understand and appreciate the background of the bad guys.

Ms. Leaf is a wonderfully talented writer with a fun, easy style. Overall, Tango Trio is an action-packed must-read that’s so full of paranormal twists and turns you’ll never see what’s coming next. I can’t wait for the next installment!

Tango Trio is at Amazon!

Tango Trio is at Amazon, available for the Kindle. Yay! I had no idea it was available at Amazon until a lovely reader sent me a Facebook note about it. She posted a wonderful review, too, thank you so much Lisa! You’re awesome!

Here’s a bit of what she had to say: “It’s not your typical menage either – yes there is the sex scenes (and WOWZA) – but what I really liked was that this book had a good story and plotting.”

*dances around happily*

Reader reviews are awesome

“Excellent book. Tango Trio has it all – strong characters, good plot, very hot smexy scenes, mystery, some action and unexpected cat shifters.”

That’s what my first reader review had to say about Tango Trio! To read the rest, go to Siren-BookStrand’s review site, My Earnest Review. Have I mentioned how much I like reader reviews?  Of course, I love the good ones, but even those that don’t like my books let me know where I can improve.
