Chance encounters and love… is it possible?

Many moons ago I was obsessed with MMF (menage romance), and I wrote three novellas based on the idea of chance encounters. I had a ton of fun writing these novels, because sometimes you don’t fall in love, you stumble over it again and again. You just gotta open up your heart and let the idea of it settle inside you. And yes, that means that sometimes you need to look a little beyond the standard romance trope. Sometimes you can fall in love with two people, not just one. Sometimes you can fall for two people at the same time!

The Four-Letter Word series is all about taking a chance when a chance encounter convinces the girl that the universe is trying to tell her something. Don’t worry, you can read these books out of order, so feel free to pick and choose at will!

Take a chance…

Evernight – Amazon Kindle – BookStrand – Barnes & Noble – Kobo – Smashwords – iBookstore

What if you met your soul-mates on the beach and didn’t realize it? How many chance encounters would it take before you risked everything and let yourself fall in love with not one, but two men?

For Carrie, losing her bikini top in the ocean leads to an erotic encounter with two gorgeous guys. For Eric and Zeke, the steamy kiss they share with her is an amusing interlude on a sunny, summer day, but when the three of them meet again at the art museum, attraction turns into passion. Zeke and Eric realize their feelings for each other are just as potent as their desire for Carrie. Will they risk everything and choose love? Will Carrie be willing to take that leap with them when loving two men means goodbye to her safe, conventional existence?

What if you met your soul-mates after you crashed your bicycle? Would you recognize them?

For Sherry, the two men who come to her rescue are gorgeous, fun, and delicious to kiss. She forgets all about them until they meet again at a charity-kissing booth. Is it fate? Destiny? Who cares? Eli and Simon are rich, handsome, and eligible. Kissing them is awesome. Watching them kiss each other is even better, but Sherry knows not to take her infatuation too seriously.

However, when she encounters them for a third time at a deserted highway rest stop, the kisses they share leave her breathless and yearning for more. Something is different. Her lust for their lips might be turning into a desire for love and happily ever after, but her secrets may spell disaster. Can Eli and Simon heal her wounded heart? Will they kiss her qualms away?

Evernight – BookStrand – Amazon – Barnes & Noble – Smashwords – Kobo

Josh and Troy aren’t looking for a girlfriend, but a lost bet sends them into a small room with a broken lock. When a beautiful blonde limps in from the connecting bathroom, they end up on their knees trying to make her feel better.

Felicity isn’t looking for love, but she keeps falling into Josh and Troy’s arms. The men can’t control their desire to take care of her. She can’t resist their humor.

Even so, Felicity isn’t sure she wants to date two guys at once, especially when she’s white and they’re not. Josh and Troy aren’t sure their attraction for her and each other is worth the risk.

Will a secret from Felicity’s past push them away before they come together? Will Josh and Troy be able to convince her they’re serious, and that their love is hers for the taking?

Risk Is A Four-Letter Word is an ARe bestseller!

Risk Is A Four-Letter Word

Risk Is A Four-Letter Word is an ARe bestseller! And I totally didn’t expect that! I certainly didn’t expect it to happen over a year AFTER it was released, but hell, I’ll take it. 😀

I can only conclude, it’s because people wanted to read the other books in the series after seeing that Lick Is A Four-Letter Word was out. That’s cool. This series is all about taking risks and chance encounters. How else do we meet our destiny and fall in love?

author website:

When I read a novel, I most enjoy those with an exciting plot (explosions are a plus), character development that knocks my socks off, and/or superpowers (I read everything from sci-fi/fantasy to murder mysteries). When it comes to erotic romance, I adore sexual tension. Unresolved sexual tension is the ultimate romance candy: characters who are crazy for each other but aren’t together yet for some reason makes my imagination tingle.

Destiny Calls by Samantha Wayland has so much of this kind of tension that I broke into a sweat halfway through the first chapter. I couldn’t put the book down. I had to find out what happened. I read the entire thing in an emotional frenzy–it took about three-four hours. I read it so quickly not because the novel is short (the print version is 314 pages), but because I refused to budge until I’d consumed it whole.

The novel opens at a club where long-time best friends and police officers Patrick Brown and Brandon Barrett have gone to see the band on stage that night. Amusingly, that particular evening is when the bar caters to the local gay crowd. Since nothing in this kind of book ever goes smoothly, of course Brandon is harrassed by an ugly biker dude who won’t take “not interested” for an answer. Patrick, the straight guy in this particular duo, decides that kissing his bisexual best friend would solve the problem. After all, if he and Brandon are “together,” the ugly biker dude would leave them alone, right? Little did he know that one kiss would rock his entire universe.

Much soul-searching and self-reevaluation occurs in the next few chapters. Patrick had no idea he was attracted to Brandon. Brandon agonizes over the situation because he’d been nursing a crush on Patrick for years. Then, just when I thought Ms. Wayland had milked the sexual tension to completion, in walks Destiny. With the addition of a third into the already volatile mix, the tension ramps up to steamy levels. Destiny is just what the two men need to help them come to terms with their growing attraction. It doesn’t hurt that she is as much a friend to each man as they are to each other. It also doesn’t hurt that the three of them truly fall in love in a realistic fashion. As a heroine, Destiny definitely holds her own with both men. She turns what could have been a major mistake for the men into a passionate affair involving all three main characters equally.

Happily, the rest of the novel details the trio’s growing emotional commitment to each other without ever lapsing into unemotional sexual acrobatics. The sex is inventive, hot, and the key to understanding their growing love for each other. Destiny Calls is a satisfying romance, complete with a delicious happy ending. The conflict is believable, the dialogue is snappy, and the characters likeable. This is the book that put Samantha Wayland’s name on my must-buy-everything-she-writes list.

How today is like a blackberry lollipop

I almost never eat blackberries. I love them in all their berry goodness but the SEEDS. Get thee out of my teeth! Dear evolution, those seeds are a terrible terrible design flaw. I don’t eat your stinkin blackberries because of those seeds! Well, except when I cook them down into a syrup I can pour over cheesecake.

Making that stupid syrup is a PAIN in the tush. Like, seriously. I have to add sugar and berry liquor and then after they’re all mushy there’s the blender and the cheesecloth and Holy Crap Batman that shit STAINS big time. But I’m such a sucker for that incredible, deep, amazing, delicious berry flavor that I make the syrup at least one or two times a year.

This is me: SUCKER

I’m a sucker for chocolate. Blackberry syrup. Hugs. Sparkly jewelry. The color purple. Kisses. And reviews. It’s a terrible addiction and I’ve totally given up trying to keep it under control. There are two lovely reviews of Risk Is A Four-Letter Word and I’m completely and utterly incapable of not posting about them. So, yeah. Thank you awesome reviewer people! Would you like a lollipop? 🙂

What are people saying about Tango Trio?

Carrie Haake was franticly trying to find the top to her bikini. It was some where and she needed to find it and get it back on. There was no way she was leaving the water and go on shore at a public beach with no top especially with her nieces and nephew right there. Her sister wasn’t going to be any help as she was sleeping under the umbrella. When her top shows up though, Carrie is looking at two of the best looking guys she’s ever seen, Zeke and Eric.

Zeke and Eric have been best friends since childhood. They currently live together and make top end furniture. They also both appreciate Carrie and hope to be able to get a date with her. But when one of Carrie’s nieces grabs her attention, both guys disappear.

The three bump into each other again at an art museum in New York. There the attraction they all feel is once again felt. This time, they go a bit further than they did at the beach though the guys still haven’t got Carrie’s phone number! However, they do find out that the attraction they feel towards Carrie extends to each other.

They continue to bump into each other when they don’t expect it like at the Emergency Room or during a blizzard. Each time the attraction becomes harder to resist until they don’t.

But while these three may be wanting to explore this attraction, they have families and not everyone is as accepting or open minded as to accept that Zeke and Eric might be a couple much less adding Carrie into the mix. What to do?

This story is absolutely awesome. It grabbed me from the first scene where Carrie is trying to find her top and kept my interest until the last page where I truly didn’t want it to end.

The characters are superb. Carrie isn’t a daring person. She’s serious, industrious and very family orientated. She seldom dates and most of her dates turn out bad. The thought of one good looking guy dating her is a foreign thought much less two. Zeke and Eric balance each other. They aren’t the same person. While one is easy going, the other is a bit intense. One’s father is an alcoholic and abusive while the other is from a loving home. Each loves their families but they are their own men. And, neither was willing to test their friendship to explore the sexual feelings they had towards the other.

The emotional pull is outstanding. Eric and Zeke are guys. They don’t talk about feelings so when a not so accidental kiss deepens into something more, they aren’t sure where the other stands or what they feel. They are forced to talk about their feelings which makes them uncomfortable. Carrie loves her sister, Olivia. Olivia thinks Carrie is going to date two guys, not two guys together. Still, she will support Carrie no matter what she does. The love is strong and it comes across. Putting Carrie into the mix of Zeke and Eric makes things muddy but the emotions that come through are strong, even if they are confused!

All those emotions make the hot sex even hotter. No matter who is involved the sex is graphic, intense and will make you horny. There are scenes with just the guys and others with all three. Each and everyone is written so you feel as if you are participating. Expect to be turned on and needing to be cooled off when reading this story.

Erin M. Leaf is a new author to me but I’ll be looking for more of her work. This story was over way too quickly and I didn’t want to leave this relationship. Still, the story was complete, just too short. (There is only around 100 pages.) I fell in love with the characters, appreciated the touches of humor and felt my heart tug with all the emotional drama. I couldn’t ask for anything more in a story.

Bottom line: If you like contemporary ménage, read this story. It is one of the best stories I have read in a while and I can’t wait to find more stories by Erin M. Leaf.

Carrie meets two hunks at the beach, and is attracted to Eric and Zeke, but over the next few months, she can’t seem to get together with them. In the meantime, Eric and Zeke realize that although they have been friends since childhood, neither knew the other was bisexual. They embark on a homosexual relationship, but both want Carrie to complete them and become a family. By the time they manage to get together, all three are already in love with each other to some extent.

Lots of conflict in Risk is a Four Letter Word, as the two men aren’t sure how to continue their lives together or with a woman in the mix. All three of their families are somewhat less than supportive of their lifestyle choices, so they spend a lot of the story tending to the conflicts. The sex is really, really hot, and the men seem to be very empathetic and so nice you have to wonder if they are for real. Carrie takes a chance on them, and we see a HEA for now ending.

I’m seeing lots of stories about gay men hooking up with the woman of their dreams lately, and I’m not entirely sure this would ever happen in real life, but it makes for great sex and interesting stories.
